HONWARABIMOCHI CLUB AND SHUPPIN ASAHI TASTING

Join us on the weekend of 13th and 14th September where we will be hosting two events (guests wanting to join both are more than welcome):

1. Honwarabimochi club (13:00-14:00) £28/guest (maximum of 6 guests per day) - We take absolute pride in our wagashi preparation. In this session, we will prepare honwarabimochi, made from 100% top quality honwarabiko from minami Kyushu (southern part of Kyusu). We are the only place in the UK that serves this wagashi and we also prepare it fresh at the time for our guests. This will be served with cold whisked koicha grade uji matcha single cultivar Gokou by Tsuji san.

2. Shuppin Asahi tasting ( 14:30 - 16:00) - £60/guest (maximum of 6 guests per day) - This is an incredibly rare offering of matcha at the highest level from the most decorated tencha farmer & producer in the world - Tsuji san. From the 2024 harvest, the tencha has been rested for over a year giving the deepest and richest flavour profile to the tea for a once in a lifetime opportunity. Guests will be served shuppin Asahi in usucha form along with a tasting of koicha. One wagashi is included. We will finish with some houjicha from Kuma san!

Remarks:

Guests of either event can enjoy 20% off a purchase of Tsuji san’s single cultivar Gokou 20g Uji matcha to take home, as well as 20% off Kuma san’s roasted tencha stems houjicha .

The usual rules of the teahouse apply to this event, i.e. no perfume, no lipsticks, brief photos, no videos. Conservations amongst guests and hosts are highly encouraged!

Payment is taken in advance. If you request to cancel, refunds will only be given if the space(s) are filled. Thank you for understanding!
