Fujimidori - a rare cultivar grown only by a few tea farmers in the deep mountains in Hoshinomura. Back in 1992 it was reported in the newspaper how initially this cultivar was misunderstood as gyokuro and disqualified in national hinpyoukai (tea competition) in the sencha category, as it has deep green colour and lingering umami closer to gyokuro. More sweet and fruity notes when served as mizudashi (cold brew).

This cultivar is usually released in around mid to late June, which is perfect timing in line with our anniversary celebration, so we always serve this tea in July.
