Bamboo matcha whisk handmade by Tanimura Tango (20th generation chasen master). We make yearly visits to his house and studio. This black bamboo is also called Kurodake. Each one is handcrafted therefore will be slightly different.

We recommend to purchase kusenaoshi (chasen holder) to keep the shape of the chasen after cleaning, as while drying the chasen tines will naturally close together and whisking will become more and more difficult.
