Kiwami, this Yame Dentou Hon Gyokuro, is among the best of the best gyokuro in all of Japan.

Strict rules and regulations must be followed by the farmers, and only if accepted upon inspection can the tea use the title ‘Yame Dentou Hon Gyokuro’, as a sign of its quality.

Yame, in Fukuoka prefecture, is the best place for gyokuro in Japan with a rich history of growing the best gyokuro in all of Japan. Yame regularly tops the Annual National Tea Fair scoreboard, usually with 25+ of the top 30 submissions. This is an award wining gyokuro from the village Hoshinomura.

The taste is sweet, smooth and buttery. An intense, rich and concentrated umami flavour with complex notes is followed by an incredibly clean and sweet finish which lingers in the mouth.
