A Sayamacha tasting - from the Okutomi family - 12 seats in total
Join us at this upcoming tasting event to sample some of Okutomi-san’s rare offerings. The 15th generation in the family, his dedication to Sayamacha is something we truly respect. This is a brilliant opportunity for us to show you some of his latest teas that are extremely limited and rare in production.
Line up:
* Winter temomicha - drinking the pure art that is hand rolled tea. The winter temomicha is made with tea picked in spring 2023, which has gone through an aging period (jukusei) and finally hand rolled in one exhausting 6-8 hour session by Okutomi-san himself.
* 2023 Chahinpyoukai 4kg sencha category 1st rank 5th place (a carefully handpicked sencha that won the 1st rank 5th place in this year’s national tea competition)
* Ichou samidori (a cultivar used mainly for tencha - the raw ingredients of matcha - but this is processed as ichou sencha).
* Matcha - the very first time we are offering matcha from Sayama prefecture, grown in his tencha fields.
* The bone - there is no chance we could miss out on the houjicha loved by so many of our regulars!
Pairing items include: chagara onigiri, 2 types of wagashi, wasanbon.
Each guest will receive a pack of ichigo koucha by Okutomi san to take home.
