Born in Saitama, Oomori Kenji was a student of environmental planning at university in Tokyo. He had plans to becoming an architect until his encounter with the potter’s wheel through an extracurricular pottery circle group at university, which changed his future path. After graduating from university, he entered the ceramic design institution in Tajimi city in Gifu Prefecture, and has been producing his current works since 2007. His work focuses a lot on the texture of the soil while giving it a soften tone (hence the matte feeling when touching his ware). We hope you find joy in using his ware.
